I ran across this on the internet today.
I love it and I haven't even taken more than a cursory look at the pages, but the concept is what intrigues me. I haven't tried any of the recipes so I have no idea if they're reasonable - but the fact that they might not be is doubtful. They're dead simple so there's not much to mess up.

I finally had the nerve to count my cookbooks this morning - 352. So I did what any rational person would do. I went and bought another.
I can't wait! I need to go buy salt - because I'm old school.

I had to buy it. Not only is it a beautiful book, but it's simple and intriguing without being filled with oddball fusion foods. The recipes are creative and innovative without being so esoteric that ingredients might be difficult to come by. As well, it's more than a simple guide to creating the perfect bowl of homemade summer chill. Molded, blended, scooped and adorned varieties are addresses as well as simple variations for many of the entries.

My first cook book. I was in heaven. I still have this treasure proudly sitting on my overloaded shelves in my kitchen. This book has a special place - protected and displayed. Just seeing it every day reminds me why I longed to learn with such intensity - well that and my Mother's cooking.
